 Oxaliplatin is the third generation platinum anticancer drug. It is a platinum compound of diaminocyclohexane, that is, 1,2-diaminocyclohexane group is used to replace the amino group of cisplatin. The action of platinum is the same as that of other platinum drugs, that is, DNA is taken as the target site, platinum atoms form cross connection with DNA and antagonize its replication and transcription. In vitro and in vivo studies showed no cross resistance with cisplatin.
